It is likely, even probable, that one day an acquaintance will come up to you and whisper in your ear, 'I have a college friend who knows a woman who has a daughter who has an ex-boyfriend who has a great aunt who's very eccentric but immensely rich and she has already chosen 999 people to sail with her to a secluded island that she owns in the South Pacific. There’s only one more spot on the ship and it's leaving tomorrow. But I talked her into letting YOU come aboard. But you can only take ONE item with you!" So now most of you are thinking, 'What do I take?! A First Aid kit? Do I take a blow torch, flashlight, solar panel, an internal combustion engine, or my box set of DVD's with every episode of CHEERS? No, no, no, no, no! You jump in your car and race to CHOCOLATE SEASON and fight, scrape, bribe to buy a whole cheesecake! Take any flavor left! If there is a chocolate or strawberry, then the Fates are with you! It's better than antidepressants. Better than vitamins. Better than Gummies! On the ship you hide it under your small cot. You're a kind person and think you’ll pass it out in forkful bites on the island. Right. As the boat washes up in the sand to the secret island, the blessed 999 all turn to you -- but your face is smeared with chocolate and cream cheese! Where is the cake? You're only human! It's gone. You ate it with your fingers so they wouldn't hear the clink of cutlery. There you sit, licking your digits, and they glare at you, threaten you, wail and weep. But it's alright, because this cheesecake is so PERFECT, rich, creamy and complex that you are now prepared for anything! -- As a lifelong and prodigal cheesecake consumer, I say this is the greatest cheesecake ever made, far above anything in New York, Chicago, Boston or L.A. Truth is, when that time comes, I'd rather be barricaded in Lincoln, Nebraska's CHOCOLATE SEASON than on some isolated tropical island! My arms around one of their cheesecakes! I dare you to wrench it from my arms!

The cheesecake was delicious! A huge hit for our family celebration and will be ordering one for more of our family celebrations!

I will tell you that Lincoln has been a disappointing dining experience especially when compared to Omaha. I was lucky to find The Chocolate Season when searching for high quality baked goods I could serve to guests. The White Chocolate Raspberry cheesecake is the best raspberry cheesecake I've tasted hands down; it makes me hesitant to order anyone else's. The Cookies & Cream cheesecake was a smash hit a couple of weeks ago. The ladies were not even shy about taking hefty pieces of it. I'd order both again in a heartbeat. So the question was what to order today??? The bottom row caught my eye and I settled on the Strawberry Inspiration. We'll see how that goes at the next gathering. Finally to have GREAT cheesecake in Lincoln. Keep up the delicious work.
